So far, Abbey's been wonderful. We have to limit how much she can graze or she would gorge herself, but she's looking better already. Drew can't wait to ride!

Way to go Raz!
For those of you who've seen Raziel, you won't be surprised by his latest adventure. Keith was riding through the field on the 4-wheeler Thursday night and Raz decided to run with him. Nothin unusual about that since Raz loves to run, but he was limping when he got back. He had been running fast enough to stick a soybean stalk about 5 inches long through the webbing on his foot. I don't have a picture of that, but we removed the stalk and got him inside and doctored. Here's a picture of him all bandaged up (with his super long toenails showing).
And just because she's a doll - here's another picture of Abbey. I've been told that I can name her Abbey but only if it's spelled like Abbey Road. Gee, I wonder who would make that rule?

Petting Zoo

We finally have a horse! She's a freebie, but seems to have a great disposition. She came to us named Freckles, but we can't keep that. Drew and I have decided on Abby, but is still subject to change. We've searched and searched and finally found that she's a flea-bitten gray (yes that's the name of her coloring). Can't wait for her to gain some weight and be even more beautiful!
We'll post pictures of her progress.

It's a boy!
Well, it's official - we have a boy!
Our Rouen duck has started getting the green head and stripe on his neck. I was hoping it would be a girl, but now I get to name the ducks after The 3 Stooges!
So, here's our first picture of the green headed Moe -

And to show off another beautiful color - check out the blue on his wings.

On a smellier note - I made two batches of soap recently -
Peppermint - which looks and smells great! I sprinkled red sugar on top and so far, it looks really neat.
and my first scent layered soap -
Top layer is Beau Brummel (Tobacco and black tea are the dominate notes with hints of fruit and spice)
and bottom layer is Sensual (Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vanilla and Lavender)
I would never had put these two together, but we weren't paying attention to which mold we put the first batch in, so we had to add some more. They go together quite well and I can't wait to see what the finished bar ends up smelling like.

It's only been 4 months
Okay, so I'm not doing great at updating the wyldewood blog, but we'll try to turn over a new leaf. It's August now and has been unbelievably hot here in West TN. We just got back from the 2008 Shelton Reunion and we had a blast! I love visiting family and we had a great time exploring around Hohenwald. NACO/Thousand Trails is a beautiful place and we always have fun while we're there. If I wasn't so forgetful, I would have some great pics, but you can always check out Amanda's blog to see some great ones.
We visited a couple of antique malls/stores and went to two great wineries. Keg Springs Winery had the best Blackberry wine I've ever had. I highly recommend it. Amber Falls was beautiful and I can't wait to go back next year and see it again.

Here's Drew and his catfish that he caught the first night we were there. It was pretty big, but we managed to convince him to release it so he could catch it again next year.
He's still trying to catch one bigger than my record. Of course, I don't have a picture, but everyone in my cabin can vouch for it, because I made sure they all woke up to see it.
I've been working on the website all day today and still can't get it to load up correctly. Every time I get the program to upload without errors, the webpage won't load, but if there are errors then at least part of it will load. I miss my bellsouth DSL so bad.

Birthdays and ducks!
I'm a little late with this one, but my nephew was here this week and it was his 5th birthday! I made a cake on Sunday and he helped decorate. Here are a couple of pictures (those globs on top were trying to be jellyfish)-

Not the best looking, but with the strawberry cream cheese icing, it tasted great.
We got three ducklings last week and I asked Lucas what he wanted to name them - 1. Sweetie Pie, 2. Sweetie, and 3. Sweetie Pootie Pie. Somehow, I doubt that's what I'll call them. If you've never been around baby ducks, they're very messy and really not very sweet, but you never know. I have a chicken named Aw and a cat named Gray Baby, so why not some ducks called The Sweeties?

First Post
After checking out my crafty cousin's blog, we thought it might be fun to have one for Wyldewood. It's almost past my bedtime, but I've been fighting with my uber-slow internet connection to get my website updated. At the last check, it'll only take me 6+ days to update all my pictures, but on brighter note, we got our new couch and chairs this weekend. It took us half a day to figure out how to get them in the house, but I have to say, they are mighty nice.
